Personal assistant required in the Blackfen/Falconwood/Eltham area.

A 45 year old gentleman is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to join his team of PAs working 14 hours per week. 
 
He has a love of animals and the family have a pet German shepherd so the PA must be happy to be around animals. 
 
The gentleman suffered a CVA stroke and is no longer able to mobilise independently or communicate verbally. He has a great sense of humour and would like a PA who is fun and supportive.
 
Responsibilities:
•    Assist with transfers from bed to wheelchair/lounge chair and vice versa with another member of the team or family member.
•    Provide personal care with dignity and respect
•    Support with medication , feeds and water through PEG tube
•    Support with Oxygen machine and Suctioning machine as required. Training will be provided.
 
Requirements:
•    Experience in caring for individuals with disabilities – preferred but not essential as long as the candidate has a willingness to learn
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Compassionate and patient attitude
•    Reliable and punctual
•    Experience with PEG, Hoists preferred but not essential as all training will be provided.
 
Shifts required:
•    Mondays – Thursday : 2pm - 5pm

•    Saturday: 7pm – 9pm
